In addition to the various participatory approaches applied to ensure stakeholder group integration in the development and implementation of both the NSTRAT and the ÖSTRAT, a strategy group was established in 2002 in order to develop guidance for participation in relation to SD and to interlink the actors working in this field in Austria. The strategy group comprised 20 persons from administration, academia, consulting, NGOs, etc. They drew up practical recommendations (‘work sheets for public participation’) and discussed with stakeholder groups.
